Users with access to multiple companies

As a CoLab user, you can be invited to multiple companies on CoLab. Thanks to our Company Switcher feature, you only need one set of login details to gain access to all companies you have been invited to.

💡 If your company does not have the Company Switcher feature yet, please reach out your Customer Success Manager to discuss access.

Simply login as usual and you will be taken to your primary company i.e. the first company you were invited to. This will always be the default company to load upon log in.

Once logged in, you can switch between your available companies by clicking on the company name in the top left corner. The companies you have access to will be listed under the ‘Company’ section of the drop down.

Simply select a company to switch to that company view. There is no need to provide credentials again.

Company data

You will only see data (workspaces, portals, files etc.) that is related to the company you have selected - ensuring a focused experience. This also includes notifications. If you have unread notifications for one of your companies, this will be indicated by a red dot 🔴 beside the company icon.

The company you are currently viewing will be identified by a tick icon, and the company name will be displayed in the top left of your screen, so you always know which company’s data you are interacting with.

Company roles

The dropdown also shows you what role you have in each company (i.e. Admin, Team member or Guest), which will determine the level of access you have there.

Note: Roles and permissions remain specific to each company. For example, you can be an Admin in one company, and a Team member in another.

Account settings

Any changes you make to your account profile settings will apply across all the companies you have access to.

Account security

When you have access to multiple companies, you will experience some changes in terms of account security:

  • The strictest security settings required by any of those companies will apply to your account, regardless of which company you are currently accessing.

  • You will not be able to open multiple sessions of CoLab concurrently.

  • Your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) profile setting can only be turned on and off when viewing your primary company.
