Creating a CoLab account

Each user must have a CoLab account in order to access CoLab. To set up an account, an existing user must first invite you to their company on CoLab.

You can be invited to multiple companies on CoLab, and hold a different role in each. You will only have to set up your account the first time you have been invited, and that company will be considered your 'primary account'.

Note: If you are invited to a company after you have already created your CoLab account, you will get an email notification simply stating you have been added to that company. You will be able to switch between companies once logged into your CoLab account.

Accept your email invite

Once an existing user has invited you a company on CoLab, you will receive an email inviting you to initialize your new CoLab account. If you open the email in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox, click on the 'Accept Invite' button and you will be brought straight to the CoLab Create account form.

Note on Browser Access
If you’re using Internet Explorer, right click on the Create Account button, select Copy Link, and then paste into one of the three browsers CoLab fully supports (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox).

Complete the account set-up form

Fill out all of the fields on the form and click Start Collaborating when you are finished. This will create your CoLab account.

Best practices:

  • Keep your username simple, such as your first name and last name.

  • Create a strong password.

Once your account is created, access CoLab at app.colabsoftware.com at any time to login.

Single sign on is the most secure way to log into CoLab. If your organization has implemented a single sign-on (SSO) integration, you will be directed to sign in using your organization’s SSO provider.
