In the coming months we’ll be updating CoLab’s navigation menu to make it easier for you to navigate the application and quickly find information. Below we'll help you get up to speed on what’s changing and avoid any confusion.
Navigating Workspaces
On the Home page, you can access workspaces through the Recent Workspaces or Workspaces sections. We’ve also made it easier to navigate within and switch between workspaces.
Use the workspace switcher at the top of the sidebar to quickly move between your available workspaces. Once inside a workspace, the sidebar provides access to tools like Drive, Packages, Portals, Reviews, and Feedback.
Accessing Track
The sidebar is now your primary way to access Track. Accessing Track from the Home page will show feedback and reviews across your entire company, while accessing it from a workspace or portal will filter the view to only show relevant data for that specific location.
From the Home page: Select Reviews or Feedback from the sidebar menu to track all issues or reviews across your company.
From a Workspace or Portal: Select Reviews or Feedback from the side menu to track all issues or reviews within the current workspace or portal.
Accessing Portals
Portals provide a focused space for external collaboration, and the sidebar adapts to support this.
Select “Portals” from the sidebar of any Workspace to view a list of available portals.
When inside a portal, the sidebar will update to show options like Portal Dashboard and Drive, tailored to the specific portal’s content and tools. Only files and data relevant to the portal will appear, helping you stay focused.
Notifications
Your notification panel will now be accessible from the bottom of the sidebar menu.
Click the notifications icon at the bottom of the sidebar to view new messages, alerts, and updates related to your projects.
Accessing Your Profile and Settings
Your profile and settings can now be accessed by clicking on your profile photo at the very bottom of the sidebar menu, located beneath the notifications icon.
New: Favourites
You will be able to save workspaces, portals, files, and filtered views of Track, and access them from a new Favourites section within the side menu. Here's an overview of what you can do with Favourites:
- Favourite items: Add frequently accessed files, workspaces, or filtered Track views.
- Reorganize: Customize the order of your favourites to match your workflow.
- Search Favourites: Use the search bar to quickly locate favourited items.
Coming Soon: My Work
The My Work section will be a global item in the new sidebar menu. It will display a centralized view of tasks assigned to you, including:
- Assigned Feedback: Feedback tasks assigned specifically to you.
- Assigned Reviews: Reviews that you’ve been assigned to participate in.
- Owned Reviews: Reviews where you’re listed as the owner.

Q: What if I can’t find something in the sidebar?
A: Check your current location (Home, Workspace, or Portal). The sidebar adapts to where you are. You can also use the search bar to find items.
Q: How do I know which workspace or portal I’m in?
A: The breadcrumbs menu shows your current location. Use the workspace switcher to navigate elsewhere.
Q: Can I customize the menu?
A: While the sidebar itself isn’t customizable, you can reorder items in your Favourites section for quick access to frequently used tools.
Q: Will these changes affect how my workspaces and reviews are organized?
A: No, your projects and workflows remain unchanged. These updates improve navigation and usability.
