Creating custom feedback types allows your team to capture specific information tailored to your unique review processes.
This article will explain how to set up new feedback types, and configure each with custom information fields and markup tools.
Creating a New Feedback Type
To set up a new feedback type with custom fields, follow these steps:

Navigate to Settings and Admin

Navigate to the Feedback Types section

Select Create Feedback Type

Assign a name and an icon for your feedback type to help users quickly recognize it.
- Choose which fields will be associated with this feedback type. To add a new field, select + Add Field. Custom fields created during this step will automatically be added to the Custom Feedback Fields menu for future use.
- For each custom field, enter a name and choose a field type. Available field types include:
- Simple text input
- Paragraph (supports rich text)
- Date picker
- Number input
- Currency
- Single user picker
- Multi-user picker
- Single picker
- Multi-picker
- Customize which markup tools are available when your feedback type is selected. Only the tools you choose will appear in the markup toolbar, and you can also set default colors and options for those tools.

Click Done to save your feedback type.
Your new feedback type will now automatically appear in all workspaces but can be disabled from any specific workspace’s settings panel if needed.
Creating Custom Fields
You can also create custom fields to be used across many feedback types. To create custom fields without creating a new feedback type:

Navigate to Settings and Admin

Navigate to the Custom Feedback Fields section

Select Create custom field

Enter a name and choose a field type from the list in the section above.

Click Done to save your custom field.
The field you've created will now show up as an option when creating new feedback types.
If you're not seeing the feedback field in reviews after creating it, make sure you've added it to a new or existing feedback type.
Using Custom Feedback Types in ReviewsOnce you have set up custom feedback types, they can be applied directly within the review process. Here’s how to use them effectively:
Access the feedback menu
In a workspace or portal, open the file you’d like to review. Select the Feedback dropdown menu to display all available feedback types, and choose the feedback type that best suits the comment or issue you’re noting.
Complete the custom fields
After filling out the feedback card and saving your feedback, navigate to the Feedback details menu from the side feedback panel. Here, you can populate any additional fields.
Tracking custom feedback
Feedback created with custom types is automatically tracked alongside default types. In Track, use the filter menu to sort by custom type or custom field.
