The CoLab integration for Siemens NX supports versions 1980 to 2512.

The CoLab integration for Siemens NX allows you to upload NX models directly to CoLab for design review and collaboration.

Administrator permissions may be required depending on your Siemens NX installation and system configuration.

Before installing the integration, ensure that:

You have access to at least one CoLab workspace.

Siemens NX is closed before beginning the installation.

Administrator permissions are available if required by your organization's IT policies.

Before starting, ensure that Siemens NX is closed.

Review, select I accept the terms in the License Agreement and click Next.

Select the Siemens NX installation directory

Choose the Siemens NX installation directory.

If the <code>UGII_BASE_DIR</code> environment variable is configured, the installer may automatically detect the installation path.

Choose the folder where the CoLab integration files should be installed.

You may get an additional screen to elevate the permission:

Click Continue to grant the installer elevated permissions.

During installation, the installer copies the integration files, installs required dependencies, and registers the integration with Siemens NX.

If your organization uses a local proxy server to manage network traffic, you must configure the <code>HTTPS_PROXY</code> environment variable on your machine or within your NX startup script to allow the integration to connect.

U.S.-based customers: Complete <a href="#h_3e87b0876e">Additional Configuration for U.S. Customers</a> before launching Siemens NX.

Verify that the CoLab command appears in the NX ribbon or menu. ​

1. Open Siemens NX.
2. Verify that the CoLab command appears in the NX ribbon or menu. ​

If the CoLab command is visible, the installation was successful.

⚠️ Some Siemens NX versions may display a compatibility warning when loading the CoLab integration.

*This warning can be safely ignored.

1. Close Siemens NX.
2. Run the newer installer.
3. Complete the installation wizard.

The installer automatically upgrades the existing installation.

If the CoLab command does not appear after installation:

Confirm that the installation completed successfully.

Verify that the integration version supports your Siemens NX version.

Contact your CoLab administrator if installation restrictions are enforced by your organization.
