Use the CoLab integration in 3DEXPERIENCE

Upload and share CAD files from 3DEXPERIENCE to CoLab using the CoLab widget.

Before you start

  • The CoLab integration is set up.

  • The CoLab widget is available in the Compass Menu.

Add the CoLab widget to a dashboard (once)

The CoLab widget must be added to each dashboard where you want to use it.

  1. Open the dashboard where the CoLab app will be added.

  2. In the Compass Menu, search for the CoLab app.

  3. Drag and drop the CoLab app to the dashboard.

Sign in to CoLab

  1. From a dashboard containing the CoLab widget, click Sign In.

  2. Complete authentication in the pop-up window.

  3. Once authentication is complete, the widget is ready to use.

Upload files to CoLab

  1. From an app where files are listed, drag and drop them into the dedicated upload area of the CoLab widget.
    šŸ’” Tip: You can drag files from both file browsers and search results.

  2. Select a CoLab workspace.

  3. Click Upload to CoLab.

The integration automatically selects the best available data:

  • Uses Authoring Files when available.

  • Falls back to Derived Outputs if needed.

Troubleshooting

āš ļø If files cannot be uploaded:

  • Ensure you are signed in to CoLab.

  • Perform a full refresh (Ctrl + F5 or Ctrl+Shift+R).

  • Verify the CoLab widget is properly loaded.

  • Confirm CAD data is available (Authoring Files or Derived Outputs).
