Closing reviews and starting new review stages

When your team is ready to move to the next review stage, you can formally close the current review and, optionally, start a new one. Closing a review confirms that the review is complete and no further feedback will be accepted.

Note: By default, portal guests will not have permission to close a review and start a new stage. They will have the ability to do this if they have been assigned a custom role with the relevant permissions configured. For more details on configurable permissions, see "Using configurable permissions & custom roles".

Closing a review

To close a review without a new review stage, enter the review itself from the Reviews sidebar and select 'Close review'.

If a review has been closed incorrectly, you have the ability to re-open that review as long as another review has not already been opened on the file. Open the review again and select 'Re-open review' to do this.

Doing this will prompt you for confirmation, providing an opportunity to leave a comment for the review's activity feed, and will notify review owners, creators, and reviewers that the review has been re-opened. The review will move back into the "in progress" phase.

Starting a new stage

To close a review and start a new stage, enter the review itself from the Reviews sidebar and select 'Close and start new review'.

You will be prompted to create a new review. Your new review can include a different scope, checklists, and reviewers.

Workspace owners can create reusable review templates, allowing users to select from predefined templates to speed up to review creation process.

All stage changes and user actions within each review are recorded within the review activity menu, providing a clear view of how the design has evolved over time and which changes occurred at each stage.
