Sharing a link to a file allows you to quickly provide access to another CoLab user, enabling them to easily view the file. You can even share a link that directs them to a specific view of a part in a model, with a particular piece of feedback already open. A step-by-step process for sharing file links is provided below.
Note: Any user you share a file link with must already have access to the workspace the file is in. If they do not have access, the link will not work for them.
Copying a file link
Right click on a file in the workspace drive and select 'Get file link'. This will copy the file link to your clipboard.
You will be able to paste the link to another user in any external application. If they have a CoLab account created and have access to the workspace, they will be brought directly to the file.
Sharing a specific view
When viewing a file in CoLab, the URL in your internet browser is a unique link to the current view of the file you have open. The unique URL even tracks which panels are open and what feedback is selected.
You can leverage this by navigating to the view you'd like to share, and using the unique address for that view (including open panels) to share with someone with access to that workspace.
