Creating review templates

Review templates in CoLab are specific to each workspace, and allow administrators to standardize review details such as title, description, associated checklist, and assigned users.

Workspace admins and users assigned custom roles with appropriate permissions can create, edit, and archive templates.

Creating review templates

Review templates are managed within the workspace settings menu, which can be accessed either from the settings icon on the workspace homepage, or from the settings icon in the workspace navigation menu.

Select the 'Reviews' section in the settings menu and select '+ Create review template'.

A 3-stage modal will appear giving you the option to predefine the following review options:

  • Review title

  • Checklist

  • Description

  • Review owner(s)

  • Reviewers

Tip: Ticking the 'Enable editing of template fields' box unlocks the ability for reviewers to edit the template title, description, and checklist fields. Leaving the box unticked means reviewers can not edit these fields.

Users with the appropriate permissions can edit, copy, and archive templates in the review templates table in the workspace settings.

Copying review templates across workspaces

To copy review templates across workspaces, right-click on any review template, choose 'Copy to workspace,' and select one or more workspaces from the modal that appears.

Using review templates

When creating or requesting a review, users can choose to fill in the review details manually or use an available review template. The available templates are determined by the workspace you are in.

After selecting a template, all the review fields are automatically filled with its contents. Whether users can edit the title, description, and checklist fields depends on whether these details were locked or unlocked in the template.

The review template will be represented in the review panel for all reviews created using a template.
