Adjust options for navigation, measurement, cutting plane colors, walk mode, and drawings.
There are several custom settings you can set within the Settings menu, and we encourage you to take a look for yourself. But here’s some of our favourites:
Change the 3D viewer controls to match your native CAD tool:
Under the ‘General tab’, select an option from the ‘Navigation Mode’ drop down menu. Options include CoLab, Catia, Solidworks, Creo, or NX
These settings will auto-save and remain as your preferred Navigation Mode (on a workspace basis)
Change measurement units:
Under the ‘General’ tab, you can change the measurement units between mm and inches, and change the number of measurement decimal places.
Change the capping face color when sectioning the model:
Under the ‘General’ tab, you can change the Capping Face Color and Capping Line Color for when you use the cutting plane tool on a 3D model.
Other tips when using the Settings menu:
The ‘Walk’ tab includes the controls for first-person walk mode (i.e. the ‘Walk’ icon on the 3D model toolbar)
The ‘Drawing’ tab gives you the ability to change the background and sheet color for drawings
Gives you the option to set a specific model view as the top view and hide 3D pins
Set View as Top:
To set a view as the top view, position the model into the desired top view position, click 'More Options' on the 3D model toolbar and select ‘Set View as Top’
Now, when you click ‘Top’ on the 3D model cube in the top right corner of the viewer, the top view will be the view that you just set. Clicking the ‘Reset Camera’ icon on the 3D model toolbar will return you back to the home view of the model
If you want to hide all the pins associated with the model (i.e. the colored dots), click More Options on the 3D model toolbar and select ‘Hide Pins’.
