Open a 3D Model in the Viewer

Open a workspace, click ‘Files’ in the left sidebar, and open the 3D file that you want to evaluate. Anytime you have a 3D file open in the viewer, you will see the 3D model toolbar in the bottom of the viewer.

3D Model Toolbar

The 3D Model Toolbar will always display in the bottom of the 3D viewer when you have a 3D file open.

Navigation Cube

The navigation cube will always display in the top right corner of the viewer when you have a 3D file open. Click the faces on the cube to view the corresponding views set on the 3D Model. You can also click the edges of the cube to view different orientations of the model.

CAD Controls

Find yourself missing the CAD controls that you’re used to in your native CAD tool? We have a solution!

If you’re used to Catia, Solidworks, Creo, or NX, you can change your CAD controls within CoLab to match. Here’s how:

  1. Click the Settings button on the 3D Model Toolbar
  2. Under the ‘General’ tab, click the ‘Navigation Mode’ drop down menu and select your descired CAD tool

Your preferences will be auto-saved. These preferences will remain auto-saved per workspace. Meaning you need to update this preference in all of your workspaces as desired.
